France defeated a very spirited Nigeria side very late in the game with Paul Pogba and substitute Antoinne Greizmann scoring against them. Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Vincent Enyema’s heroic fell short in keeping the French attack at bay. Mathieu Valbuena and Pogba were influential in the attacking sense while the center back pairing of Raphael Varane and Laurent Koscielny nipped the Nigerian attacks in bud.

Germany won their game against Algeria in the extra-time. Algeria caused a lot of problems for the Germans as they could not keep the possession for long and at every possible occasion hit on the counter keeping the defence busy. Manuel Neuer had a very busy day in between sticks and outside his area too. Some tactics need to change.

Key Battles: Midfield battle will be crucial in the outcome of the game.
