The defending champions are clearly struggling for form this season and are currently sixth in the league table, nine points behind league leaders AC Milan. Inter’s poor run of form continued last weekend as they slumped to a shock 2-1 defeat against Chievo who secured a far more comfortable victory than the scoreline suggested.

The defeat handed another blow to Rafa Benitez who will be without in-form striker Samuel Eto’o who was handed a three match ban for head butting Bostjan Cesar though the incident was not spotted by the referee.

Parma coach Pasquale Marino will be keen to take advantage of the turmoil at Inter by securing at least a point from the game as he looks to help his side pull away from the relegation zone.

Seven points from last three games has seen Parma climb to 14th in the league table though Marino will be aware that his side still has a lot of work to do in order to assure their safety in the Serie A.
