The Rossoneri maintained their four point lead at the top of the table with another comfortable victory as they beat Catania 2-0. After a poor first half, Milan finally took the lead through Robinho 13 minutes after the restart before Zlatan Ibrahimovic wrapped up the game five minutes from the final whistle.

Milan will be without new signing Mark van Bommel who was sent off in the 54th minute though Nicola Legrottaglie could make his debut after completing a move from title rivals Juventus.

Meanwhile Genoa will be hoping for a repeat of their performance in this fixture from last season and avenge their narrow defeat to Milan at the San Siro.
