Milan opened up a three point lead at the top of the table following an excellent attacking performance against arch rivals Inter Milan last weekend. Alexandre Pato grabbed a brace while Antonio Cassano was also on target as both the teams ended the game with 10 men on the field.

The victory sees Milan go three points clear at the top though Napoli are close on their heels with a thrilling victory over Lazio. While his side is in a strong position to claim the Scudetto, Allegri will be aware that they still have a tough set of fixtures to come up with Milan set to play Sampdoria after their match against Fiorentina.

Meanwhile Fiorentina will keen to maintain their unbeaten run of form that has seen them not taste defeat since losing out to Inter back in February.
