The Giallorossi’s recent revival hit a snag last weekend as they suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat away to Palermo. Fabrizio Miccoli put the hosts in the lead early in the first half and two goals in space of four minutes by Josip Ilicic and Antonio Nocerino put the result beyond doubt before Francesco Totti scored a consolation for Roma.

The defeat sees Claudio Ranieri’s side slip to seventh in the league table but with just two points separating Roma from third placed Juventus, Ranieri will be optimistic that his side can break into the top four of the league table this weekend.

Meanwhile Chievo Verona will be hopeful that the unexpected break last weekend will provide them with an advantage to secure another shock result after having beaten Inter Milan in their last match.
