Milan’s thumping victory over Lecce has raised hopes that the Rossoneri can finally break the stranglehold of arch rivals Inter Milan on the Scudetto. A brace from Pato and a goal each by Thiago Silva and Filippo Inzaghi helped Milan secure a comfortable 4-0 victory and start the new season at the top of the league table.

The Rossoneri’s attacking options have been further boosted by the recruitment of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho on the final day of the transfer window and while there are some who claim that the signings will have a negative effect on the team, fans are optimistic that their side can finally lift the Serie A title for the first time in seven years.

Both the new signings are expected to make their debuts this weekend though manager Massimiliano Allegri faces a tough decision about whom to drop from the starting lineup after an impressive showing in the first match.
