Nesta dislocated his shoulder during Milan’s comfortable 2-0 win over Cesena last weekend and the defender is set to be out of action for at least three weeks.

Though Milan have signed Urby Emanuelson from Ajax, the 24-year old plays at the full back position, leaving the Rossoneri with no major star in the centerback position and leading to speculation that they could bid for Genoa’s Domenico Criscito.

Nesta’s injury apart, coach Massimiliano Allegri will be pleased with his side’s performance against Cesena that saw them remain four points clear at the top of the table. With Juventus and Inter Milan both stumbling once again, Allegri will be aware that his side do have a great chance of lifting the trophy this year.

Meanwhile Catania will be hoping to repeat their performance from early in the season and come away from the game with at least a point as they desperately struggle to pull away from the relegation zone.
