Roma narrowly missed out on their first Serie A title in nearly a decade as they finished just two points behind champions Inter Milan last season. The Giallorossi started the season with a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Inter in the Supercoppa last weekend.

However with the departure of Jose Mourinho and with new manager Rafa Benitez yet to fully build his squad, Roma coach Claudio Ranieri will be aware that an excellent start to the new season could give them a great chance of winning the title this season.
