The Rossoneri’s lead at the summit of the table was whittled down to three points after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Genoa last week.  Alexandre Pato put Milan ahead just before the half-hour mark, only for Antonio Floro Flores to nullify that strike on 45 minutes.

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri rued his side’s bad luck as he saw a number of chances saved by the Genoa keeper. Napoli's win at Cesena means that Milan are just three points ahead at this point as they chase the Scudetto for the first time in four seasons.

Meanwhile Parma held Fiorentina to a 1-1 draw after Carvalho Amauri gave them an early lead with his first goal for the club, only to see Gaetano D'Agostino equalize from the spot. Boss Pasquale Marino will be hoping his side can pose a stiff challenge this weekend and come away with at least one point from the San Siro.
