The Gers missed a great chance of pulling clear of Celtic in the race for the league title as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Inverness last weekend. Inverness had taken a shock lead in the first half through Jonathan Hayes but Kenny Miller restored parity 12 minutes into the second half.

Miller had a great chance of handing his side the victory after Rangers won the penalty in the 82nd minute only for Inverness goalkeeper Ryan Esson pulling off a great save to deny the visitors from the penalty spot.

The draw means Rangers are still three points clear at the top of the table and manager Walter Smith will be expecting an improved performance from his side in front of the home crowd.
