The Rangers keeper has been suspended for one match Scottish Football Association for aiming a kick at Chris McGuire in his side’s narrow 3-2 victory over Aberdeen back on September 26. While the referee failed to spot the kick, the Scottish FA made use of video review before arriving at the decision.

The suspension will come as a blow to Walter Smith’s side who have been dogged at each step by Celtic with both the teams winning their first seven games. While Celtic face a tough trip to Dundee United, Smith will be hopeful that McGregor’s absence will not prove to be costly for his side this weekend.

While Motherwell had held Rangers to two draws at Fir Park, they suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat in this fixture last season.
