The Gers took full advantage of Celtic’s slip up against Dundee with a thrilling 3-2 win over Kilmarnock last weekend to opening up a three point lead at the top of the table. Kilmarnock had taken a shock lead through Conor Sammon midway through the first half but a brace by Kenny Miller and though Sammon managed to restore parity, Miller completed his hat trick to secure all three points for his side.

Manager Walter Smith will be delighted with his side’s performance last weekend and will be keen to make sure that they will not slip up against Dundee this weekend.

Dundee United on the other hand will be hoping to avoid another heavy defeat after losing 4-0 to Rangers early this season. The Tangerines are currently sixth in the league table and coach Peter Houston will be keen to turn around a slow start to the season and help his side climb up the league table.
