Celtic on the other hand secured a comfortable victory over Aberdeen in their semi final clash with Kris Commons, Charlie Mulgrew, Thomas Rogne and Anthony Stokes putting the Bhoys 4-0 ahead by the half time while Scott Vernon’s strike gave Aberdeen a consolation goal in the second half.

Both the teams have met three times in the League Cup final with Rangers winning twice though the last meeting ended in a 2-0 win for Celtic. In total both the teams have played each other 46 times in the competition with Rangers narrowly edging with 23 wins compared to Celtic’s 21.
