The Black Cats have shrugged off a poor start to the season and one of their heaviest defeats to arch rivals Newcastle United to climb to seventh in the league table. Sunderland have collected eight points from their last four games since losing out to Newcastle and manager Steve Bruce is delighted with his side’s form, claiming that a spot in the Europa League next season could be seen as an achievable aim.

Sunderland were denied a victory in front of their home fans on Monday after a Danny Welbeck brace had seen them overcome Tim Cahill’s opener early in the 6th minute. However just when it looked as if the Black Cats were on course for a second successive win, Mikel Arteta grabbed the equalizer seven minutes from the final whistle.

Wolves on the other hand have lost their last four games since securing a shock win over Manchester City last month. Mick McCarthy’s side are currently 19th in the league table and the Wolves manager will be aware that his side will have to start picking up points on a consistent basis if they are to have any hopes of avoiding relegation this time around.
