The Frenchman was finally able to wrap up his work with the French Football Federation (FFF) two weeks after being confirmed as the Villa manager and while his first game in charge of the club will be the Carling Cup clash against Blackburn, the game would have come very soon for Gerard Houllier who took charge of the club on Monday.

Houllier’s immediate task will be to improve Villa’s league form with the club winning just two of their opening five games to slip down to eighth in the league table. Villa go into the match against Wolves on the back of another disappointing performance as they managed to collect just one point from their home clash against Bolton Wanderers last weekend.

Meanwhile Wolves will be hoping to snap out of their losing streak to collect three vital points this weekend. Mick McCarthy’s side are off to a decent start this season though they go into the match on the back of a two match losing streak with both the defeats came away from home.
