After a disastrous start to the new season that saw them ship in 10 goals in their opening two games, Wigan seem to be finally finding their form after collecting four points from their last two games. After an excellent performance in their narrow victory over Tottenham, the Latics put up another good display at home to Sunderland with Antolin Alcaraz scoring a late equalizer last weekend.

Manager Roberto Martinez was delighted by the response shown by his side after going behind midway through the second half though he was quick to state that his side is still a work in progress and will have to quickly start putting up consistent performances.

Meanwhile pressure is slowing increasing on Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini after yet another disappointing display last weekend. Expected to challenge for the league title this season, City have managed to collect just five points from their first four games and Mancini will be aware that his side will have to start winning consistently if they are to finish at least in the top four of the league table.

Jerome Boateng should make a comeback to the starting lineup after missing out the game against Blackburn Rovers with a knee injury though new signings Mario Balotelli and Aleksandar Kolarov continue to remain out of action.
