The Hammers looked to have turned their form around after four points from two games saw them climb up from the foot of the league table. However a second half goal by Nikola Zigic for Birmingham in their last match condemned them to their 12th defeat of the season and slide back to the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile West Brom will be hoping to have named a replacement for Roberto Di Matteo by this weekend after sacking him following a poor set of results that saw them lose 13 of their last 18 games in all competitions.

After an excellent start to the season that at one point saw them positioned third in the table, the Baggies have failed to collect points on a consistent basis and find themselves out of the relegation zone thanks only to their superior goal difference. A defeat on Saturday could see them slip into the relegation zone with just two points separating them from the foot of the table.
