Roy Hodgson endured a difficult six month spell at Liverpool with the players struggling to respond to his tactics while the Liverpool crowd failed to warm up to the 63-year old. Hodgson was sacked early in January before being appointed as the West Brom coach last month.

Liverpool on the other hand bounced back from their disappointing exit from the Europa League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Sunderland in their last match. Dirk Kuyt broke the deadlock from the penalty spot midway through the first half before Luis Suarez grabbed a second 13 minutes from the final whistle.

The Reds will be keen to show Hodgson that they are a better team under Kenny Daglish and will be confident of securing all three points and maintain slender hopes of overtaking Tottenham and qualify to the Europa League next season.
