The Baggies are quickly becoming one of the surprise packages of the season and find themselves at a dizzying height of sixth in the league table with nearly a quarter of the season gone prompting suggestions that the club could challenge for a place in Europe next season. However manager Roberto Di Matteo is refusing to get carried away by the early season form and once again reiterated that his side’s minimum aim is to finish clear of the relegation this season.

West Brom go into the match against Fulham on the back of a couple of excellent displays in their last two games. The Baggies came back from two goals down against Manchester United to secure a vital point thanks to an own goal by Patrice Evra and another from Somen Tchoyi.

Fulham on the other hand will be fuming at referee Mike Dean for their defeat against Tottenham last weekend. The Cottagers went into the second half at 1-1 but went controversially behind in the 63rd minute when Tom Huddlestone was awarded a goal even though the assistant referee had flagged William Gallas off side.
