Spurs take part in their first ever Champions League group stage match on Tuesday when they visit Werder Bremen and manager Harry Redknapp will be hopeful that a victory over the German side will provide the much needed impetus to the new season after a slow start that has seen them win just one of their opening four games.

Redknapp will be keen to repeat last season’s excellent run of form that saw Spurs finish inside the top four of the league table for the first time in the Premier League but will be aware that they will have to start winning games on a consistent basis if they are to qualify for their second successive Champions League campaign.

Wolves on the other hand will be pleased with the start to the new season that has seen them collect five points from their opening four games. Mick McCarthy’s side suffered their first defeat of the new season as an injury time goal by Moussa Dembele condemned them to a 2-1 defeat at Fulham.
