While Spurs have been in excellent form in their debut Champions League campaign, they have struggled to hit the back of the net against teams well below them in the league table. Spurs have failed to score in their last three games, including the second leg against AC Milan, while a poor run of just one win from their last five games has all but ended hopes of overtaking Manchester City in the race for the final Champions League spot.

Tottenham once again struggled in their league match last weekend as they were unable to break through a stubborn Wigan Athletic side to register a third successive stalemate. With Manchester City securing a thumping 5-0 win over Sunderland, the result sees Tottenham six points behind their rivals with just seven games remaining in the season.

Stoke City on the other hand will be going into the match confident of securing at least a point after putting an excellent display against Chelsea. Jonathan Walter had given the Potters a shock lead in the first half and Chelsea could only manage a single goal through Didier Drogba and had to settle for a point.
