An interesting match from the Barclays Premier League is set to take place this weekend, between Swansea City and Burnley. The match will be played on Saturday, in the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans are currently sitting at the 16th place in the table, and are currently hanging by the thread above the relegation zone. With just two points separating them from the bottom three, their endeavors to win have taken a turn for the better. After incurring constant defeats, they turned their form around by picking three wins in their last five campaigns. After defeating the likes of Liverpool, Leicester and Southampton, Burnley is their next target.
And given the poor form of the Clarets, it is quite possible that Swansea may end up being victorious here. Even though Burnley are at the 11th place in the table, they have drawn their last couple of fixtures. Moreover, their record as the visiting side is quite disastrous, having failed to win their last 12 away games. To make things far more worse for them, the Swans have a good record against Burnley.
In five of their last six meetings, Swansea City has emerged as the victor, while keeping a clean sheet. This is going to be a tight game, but expect Swansea to continue their winning form.
The fifth fixture of the English Premier League Game week Two will be played between Swansea and Burnley at Liberty Stadium, Swansea. The kick off is scheduled at 15:00 (GMT) on 23rd August, 2014.
Swansea is off to a flying start with a win over Manchester United at Old Trafford. An impressive midfield display saw Swansea push Manchester United to the edge. Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurðsson and Ki Sung-Yeung were top performers. Both players returned back to Swansea after their spells with Tottenham and Sunderland, both better than they were at Swansea.
Under Garry Monk, Swansea has continued to play expansive football and with addition of Bamfetimbi Gomis, the forward line looks more solid.
Against Chelsea, Burnley were swept away by three first half goals as they found out that life in the top division is difficult. Possessing a decent squad, Burnley look to be short of numbers as well as quality in the squad. This is a side which had a mean defensive record in the Championship last season.
Against Swansea City, Burnley will be tested in midfield. Instead of a work horse like attitude, Burnley should look to play smartly if they are to avoid a humiliating defeat again.
