A match of extremes is set to take place in the Premier League this weekend, between the third placed Manchester City and the bottom placed Sunderland. The match will be played on Sunday afternoon, in the Stadium of Light.
City are currently at the third place with 52 points - 11 points behind Chelsea and just a point behind Tottenham Hotspur. They have been playing well in all the competitions off lately, and their rhythm appears to be back on track. Their recent victories include a 4-0 rout against West Ham United and a couple of small wins against Swansea City and AFC Bournemouth.
As for Sunderland, they have won only one match in their last five attempts - a win that came against Crystal Palace by 4-0. While they anticipated that this would help them develop their form, they ended up losing their next two games to Southampton and Everton. They are at the 20th place with just 19 points and need more than a win here to propel themselves out of the relegation.
Manchester City have been on a goal scoring spree. They won against Monaco by 5-3 and defeated Huddersfield Town in FA Cup by 5-1. Surely, we can expect a similar result here as well.
Manchester City will travel to Sunderland and play at the Stadium of Light on February 2, 2016. This game is scheduled to kick off at 19:45 hours GMT.
Manchester City will be looking to keep the pressure up on Arsenal and Leicester City with a win in this game. They surely have the stronger side and the more talented players. Sergio Aguero has been in fine form however they will miss the presence of Kevin De Bruyne who suffered an injury that could see him out for as long as 3 months until his is fully fit. City have been having very mixed result alternating between wins and draws for the last six games. They will go all guns blazing and should comfortably come out on top in this game.
Sunderland are in the middle of a relegation battle and things could get worse for them given the size of their opponents. They are in such deep waters that even a win will see them stay in the bottom three. They haven't won either of their last two Premier League games. Something will have to change if they want to come out with a win in this home game.
Other than a miracle, we can expect City to win this and keep their title hopes alive.
Manchester City will be looking to get things right when they take on Sunderland in the English Premier League. This game will be played at the Etihad Stadium on December 3, 2014 and kick-off will take place at 19:45 hours BST.
Manchester City are lagging behind in the race for the title and will be hoping to put together a string of victories to put some pressure on Chelsea who have a comfortable eight point lead over them. Sergio Aguero has been the main man for the Blue team from Manchester. He is currently the top scorer in the league and will be hoping to continue his fine form in this game as well.
Sunderland have had a decent season when compared to the way they started last season. They are known to pull out the rabbit from the hat and cause major upsets. in fact last year they managed to beat City which will be something they would like to do once again. They should be able to use the home advantage to their benefit and take the game to City. However due to lack of leadership on the ground, it will not be too easy for them to beat Manchester City.
This game should be an easy win for City keeping them in the hunt to retain their title, however, Sunderland could end up brining their A game to the ground and causing a major upset.
