Stoke City will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat when they welcome Aston Villa in their next Premier League game on Monday. Watch all the live Premier League action here on Live Sport Network.

The Potters have been one of the most consistent teams in the lower half of the league table for the past two seasons but manager Tony Pulis will be a worried man after a poor start that has seen them lose their opening three matches including a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend.

While Stoke are once again expected to pose a serious challenge for a place inside the top half of the table, Pulis will be aware that unless his side start to pick up points, they can very well be sucked into a relegation battle in the second half of the league season.

Meanwhile Aston Villa’s search for a new manager seems to be nearing to an end with reports suggesting that former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is expected to be named as the successor to Martin O’Neill in the next two days. Current caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald has failed to convince the board that he is the right man to lead Villa in spite of winning two of the opening three league games.

New signing Stephen Ireland is the only major injury concern for Villa with the 24-year old yet to recover from a hamstring injury while deadline day signings Eidur Gudjohnsen, Marc Wilson and Jermaine Pennant could make their debuts for Stoke.
