Everton will look to continue their winning streak next week, when they visit a confident Stoke City in the Bet365 Stadium. The match will be played on Wednesday evening.
The performance of the toffees has been simply sensational off lately. They've won four matches and drew just one. In addition to this, those four victories came with a clean sheet against some of the strong sides like Southampton and Manchester City. Interestingly, they defeated the two sides with a score of 3-0 and 4-0 respectively.
As for the Potters, they have made a tremendous improvement in their form. Following the prospect of relegation, the massive turnaround in their form has been nothing short of inspirational. In fact, they have gone undefeated in their last five home matches. At the moment, they are at the ninth place in the table, which is just two places below Everton.
Stoke City are coming in this match after warding Manchester United at home for a 1-1 draw. Needless to mention, defeating Stoke at home in the present scenario is going to be a tough ask for Everton. But given that they absolutely thrashed Manchester City's defense, they will fancy their chances here as well. Expect this to be a tight encounter, with both the sides to score.
Everton will travel to the Britannia to take on Stoke City on February 6, 2016. The game will kick off at 15:00 hours BST.
Everton finally found their feet in the midweek 3-0 win over Newcastle. Their prolific striker, Romelu Lukaku may have to sit this game out due to injury. That may pose a problem for Roberto Martinez who may find it hard to set up his strongest team for this game. Ross Barkley has been the major reason Everton have been playing well. The Englishmen will be hoping to put in a similar inspiring performance and help spur his team up the table into as position closer to the top seven.
Stoke City have been playing decent football but have not been able to put together a decent run of positive results. Last game weeks 3-0 loss to Manchester United will surely tempt the manager to make a few changes. The top players in the team will have to step up and put in performances similar to the ones that saw them win against top teams, at home, earlier in the season. Tony Pulis will be well aware of the home conditions and will be hoping that his players are able to use them to their advantage.
This game promise to be a fun game to watch. Will the wind once again play a big part in the result of this match? We will have to wait and watch.
10th placed Stoke City host 14th placed Everton at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday 4th March, at 19:45 hours BST.
Stoke City have put together a decent run of results, winning four games out of their last six league games. Their success is based on an all-round team performance. Goals have been coming in from midfield and strikers. Ryan Shawcross will miss Wednesday night’s game but will hopefully be fully fit for the game next week. Mame Diouf will continue to lead the attack for Stoke City. Jonathan Walters will be a menacing figure in midfield.
Everton are not having a great season under Roberto Martinez as they are slipping further down the Premier League table. Currently at 14th spot, Everton are just six points away from the relegation zone which is definitely something the Evertonian supporters will dislike. They have registered only one victory in their last six league games. Leighton Baines has picked up a thigh injury and will be out for a while. Romelu Lukaku is going through a dry spell but only in the Premier League. He has scored five goals in his last two Europa League appearances. Martinez would like to see Lukaku transfer some of his Europa form into the Premier League.
A trip to Stoke City is always tough and with Everton’s recent form, it looks unlikely that they will get all three points. However, they might just fight out a draw.

Everton beat Southampton 2-1 over the weekend thanks to goals from Seamus Coleman and Romelu Lukaku, with the latter netting his first in six outings. They would have been a bit disappointed with the goal they let in- Joel Robles simply let Gaston Ramirez’s effort go through him, and it was a goal that would probably have not gone in had regular keeper Tim Howard been in goal.
Stoke had a poor outing against Tottenham, losing 3-0 to Tim Sherwood’s side. They had less than one thirds of possession and only mustered a single shot on target in the whole game. The only area of the game where they beat Spurs was the fouls category, making twice as many as the Lilywhites.
With their win over Saints, Everton leapfrogged Liverpool, who lost 2-1 to Chelsea in their league game. Stoke are 12th in the table currently, with 21 points from 19 games so far.
