Action from the bottom half of the Premier League is heading your way, with Southampton looking to get the better of West Ham United in Premier League. The two sides will meet in the St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday.
The performance of both the sides off lately has been a disastrous one. The Saints have lost four of their last five matches, which were against the likes of Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Burnley. Their most recent defeat came at the hands of Swansea City by 2-1. As for the Hammers, they themselves just incurred a heavy 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The teams are separated by just a point, which speaks for their intense competition. However, in comparison, West Ham still appear to be slightly better at the moment. They won a couple of matches against Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough by 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. However, after Dimitri Payet's untimely exit from the team, the pressure will be now building up on the other lads to step up and perform.
When the Saints visited the Hammers in London, they went back home with three points on the back of a 3-0 win. This time around, given the gloomy circumstances in the Hammers' camp, the hosts should be able to take advantage and win here.
Southampton will host West Ham United at the St. Mary’s Stadium. The game will take place on February 6, 2016 at 17:30 hours BST.
With the return of Fraser Forster in goal, Southampton have kept four clean sheets in four games. His absence was surely cause of major concern for the manager and the team. However, the Saints have been misfiring in front of goal and have not been able to find rhythm while getting into attacking positions. The addition of Charlie Austin was made to make that problem go away, however, he has to be eased into the game line up and after being rested midweek will be looking to make his first start for Southampton in front of his new fans in this home game. They should be able to give West Ham United a tough run, but may fall short given the form of their opponents for the night.
West Ham United have been playing well and are fighting for a spot in the top seven this season. Sevan Bilic has been able to get the best out of his team. Andy Carroll is expected to be fit for this game giving the wingers and midfielders a huge center forward to aim at. His presence could only aid the away team.
The game is one that seems evenly matched on paper and hence taking recent form into consideration, in spite of the impeccable defensive record of the home side, West Ham United should clinch this fixture.
Southampton continues thei wonder run in the Premier League. They enter this game in third spot and will welcome West Ham United to St. Marys on Wednesday, 11 February at 19:45 hours BST.
Both these teams have been playing top quality football. They have both exceeded their yearly ambition and will be hoping that they can push a little more to ensure that they both get European football next season.
Southampton’s manager Ronald Koeman has been exceptional in the way he handles his players. They have a big squad and almost each player is playing very well. Victor Wanyaman has been lethal in midfield and Pelle has been outstanding in front of goal. We could see these two playing a huge role in this game as well.
West Ham United will be feeling disappointed after missing out on the three points against Manchester United on the Sunday that just passed. They will be hoping to set things right with a win in this game. Andy Carroll was rested for the earlier game and hence he could be played in this game. Stewart Downing will continue in midfield where he is most lethal.
This game is a tough one to call given that both the teams are in form, however given the circumstances where each team would not want to lose a game; we could be in for a draw.

Both teams have four points from three played but the Hammers are above the Saints in the league table thanks to their positive goal difference. The London outfit did lose their last game against Stoke though and more alarmingly, failed to register a single shot on target against the Potters.
West Ham are also one of the poorest travellers in the league, winning just one of their last fifteen on the road. Star striker Andy Carroll will not figure in this game, with an AC injury keeping him in the treatment room. West Ham United are short of attacking firepower upfront and Carroll’s newest injury will only add to Sam Allardyce’s headache.
Southampton are unbeaten in their last four home games against West Ham and will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak against the Hammers. A win will see them jump above Sam Allardyce’s side in the league standings.
