Villa shrugged off the departure of Martin O’Neill by putting one of their best performances in recent years as they completely dominated a poor West Ham side at Upton Park. Newcastle’s injury crisis should ease up somewhat with Peter Lovenkrands and Danny Guthrie expected to recover in time for the game this weekend while Villa could be without Milner after the club agreed a fee with Manchester City for the England midfielder.
