The Old Trafford Stadium next week will be hosting the Premier League encounter between Manchester United and Hull City. The match will be played on February 1st, at 20:00 hours, local time.
The Red Devils have gone unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League games, but that has only landed them to the sixth place in the table. One reason for this lies in their eight draws in the campaign, two of which came consecutively for them most recently. With a score of 1-1, they drew against Liverpool and Stoke City.
Their goal difference is quite low, which is another reason why it will be hard for them to move up in the table. Nonetheless, with 41 points, they are still in the race. This match against Hull City gives them the opportunity to make amends for that.
The Tigers, who won the first leg of this fixture by 2-1, are at the 19th place in the league table. Their last fixture was against Chelsea, which they lost by 2-0. While they are capable of stunning the opponents at time, their recent form tells a different tale altogether. The Red Devils can see themselves to the win here, owing to the good form of their players. This ought to be a good scoring game for the hosts.

Hull City on the other hand have won only one game in the last six matches & hence are at 17th place in the Premier League. Steve Bruce’s men looked lively in the first twenty minutes of the game against Tottenham last Sunday but couldn’t hold on to the one-goal lead. Manchester United interim manager Ryan Giggs suffered the first set back of his managerial career when his side went down to a resurgent Sunderland team 0-1 at home over the weekend. Not affecting the league standings much, the home side are still at the seventh position with 60 points from 36 matches, and for the first time in a very long time, have nothing left to play for in the league.
Hull City however, faces united hoping to get at least a point here to make sure they play in the league next season. The visitors are at the 15th position in the league table with 37 points from 36 matches. Hull have lost four of their last six matches including the weekend’s 1-3 away defeat at Aston Villa.
Manager Steve Bruce’s side needs to turn up and salvage as many points as they can in their last two matches to be absolutely certain of their continued services in the Premier League.
