Hughes’ first game against his former club ended in a heavy 4-1 victory to City at Craven Cottage with Carlos Tevez grabbing a brace. However with City putting in some inconsistent performances in their recent games, Hughes will be optimistic that his side can collect at least a point from the game and continue their climb up the league table.

An improved set of results in recent games has seen Fulham climb to 12th in the league table, just four points above the relegation zone. The Cottagers go into the game on the back of an excellent performance against Chelsea and could have nicked all three points had Clint Dempsey managed to convert from the penalty spot.

City on the other hand suffered a disappointing defeat to arch rivals Manchester United in their last league game and followed it up with another poor performance against Aris Salonika in the Europa League though they did beat Notts County 5-0 in their FA Cup replay last weekend.
