Just two wins from their last seven games has cut down the five point lead enjoyed by City over their nearest rivals to just one point and with Tottenham Hotspur looking to be back at their consistent best, City manager Roberto Mancini will be aware that his side could slip out of the top four spots if they fail to turn their form around sooner rather than later.

A 4-1 drubbing of Fulham had led to hopes that City had finally discovered their attacking edge but they dropped two more points away to Stoke last weekend. City struggled to create any real chances and were lucky to come away with a point from the Britannia Stadium.

Bolton Wanderers on the other hand will be keen to build on their excellent comeback against Blackpool last weekend and maintain their place in the upper end of the league table. The Trotters had gone two goals behind midway through the second half but goals from Martin Petrov and Mark Davis saw the collect a deserved point from the game.
