Avram Grant could find himself under some serious pressure to resign unless his West Ham side fails to secure all three points when they visit Liverpool in their next Premier League encounter this weekend. Grant was set the target of collecting at least seven points from their last three games against Birmingham, West Brom and Blackpool but could only manage to collect three points to remain at the foot of the table. With the distance to safety now extending to five points, and with Wigan, Birmingham and Fulham putting up some decent performances, pressure will be on Grant to turn West Ham’s form around sooner rather than later if he wants to remain at the club.

Grant expressed his disappointment following the stalemate against Blackpool last weekend and said that the supporters had the right to criticize the team since it was not the result that they wanted.

Meanwhile Liverpool will be hopeful of bouncing back strongly following a disappointing defeat to Stoke last weekend. The Reds looked to be returning to form with three straight wins, including a brilliant 2-0 win over Chelsea, but were held to a disappointing draw by Wigan before losing to Stoke last weekend.
