The Cottagers surrendered their unbeaten start to the season after suffering back to back defeats against Tottenham and West Brom in their last two games and manager Mark Hughes will be aware that his side could get sucked into a relegation battle unless they start to win games on a consistent basis.

Fulham’s only victory this season came back in September against Wolves and the Cottagers have since then managed to collect just three points from their next five games to slide down to 16th in the league table and only a superior goal difference has helped them avoid slipping down into the relegation zone.

Chris Kirkland is likely to retain his place in the starting lineup after confirming that he will be thinking about his future if he continues to remain on the bench while Andy Johnson is likely to start the game for Fulham after recovering from his knee injury.
