The Black Cats have looked impressive so far this season and have lost just one of their last six games. The excellent run of form has seen Sunderland race up to seventh in the league table and while they were in this position last season before a long winless streak saw them slip down near the relegation zone, manager Steve Bruce will be confident of a different outcome this time around.

Sunderland bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Wolves with a good performance against West Ham on Sunday. Jordan Henderson scored the only goal of the match just past the half hour mark though Sunderland should have had won the match with the bigger margin.

Fulham on the other hand were undone by a couple of brilliant goals by Samir Nasri. The Frenchman twice bamboozled the Fulham defense with some brilliant dribbling inside the box before slotting the ball past the keeper.
