Crystal Palace and Everton will look to get better of each other this weekend, when they go head to head in the Selhurst Park. The match will be played on Saturday evening, as a part of their Premier League fixture.
The hosts have gone without a win since the first week of December - a 3-0 win that came against Southampton. With that being their sole victory in the last two months, it is certainly not surprising to see them hovering around the relegation zone. They have been conceding goals quite heavily, with their match against West Ham United ending in a 3-0 loss.
Coming to Everton, they are at the seventh place in the table, and are coming in on back of a terrific performance. They humbled the Premier League giants Manchester City with 4-0, Ross Barkley providing two of those assists. Prior to that, they also defeated Southampton and Leicester City, breaking records along the way.
As visitors, against the Glaziers, Everton have got a far better record, seeing that they have kept a clean sheet in their last four visits to Selhurst Park. This match is going to be an easy win for the visitors. Everton are in a sensational form and given the poor defense and morale of Crystal Palace, it wouldn't be surprising to see another high scoring match here.
Crystal Palace will be hosting a struggling Everton at Selhurst Park. The game is scheduled for kick-off at 15:00 hours BST on January 31, 2015. This game promises to be a cracker given that these teams seem to be evenly matched. They are equal on points and are separated by a mere four goal difference.
Many would expect Everton to be the favourite going into this fixture, but as things stand, Everton have not won a single game in their last six league outings losing four and drawing two games. They will lack bite up ahead given that experienced striker Samuel Eto’o has left the club. Roberto Martinez will have a lot of problems selecting a strong eleven given all the injury troubles. Kevin Mirallas and Mohammed Besic both are out due to injury.
Crystal Palace is in the middle of a good patch entering this game on the back of consecutive wins. Alan Pardew’s appointment has surely aided the team and brought back belief amongst both players and fans. Dwight Gayle and Jason Puncheon have been the driving forces behind the wonderful form that Palace find themselves in.
Crystal Palace seems to be the stronger of the two teams and hence could come out on top with the three points and leap frog Everton in the table.
