League leaders Chelsea will be going up against the 15th placed Swansea City, in the Barclays Premier League this weekend. The match will be played in the Stamford Bridge, on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues are currently eight points clear at the top, as they are marching relentlessly towards the Premier League trophy. Despite their recent draws against Liverpool and Burnley, their title hopes didn't suffer any major damage. What's quite interesting here is that, when Chelsea visited Swansea City in the first leg, the end result was a 2-2 draw.
Since then, however, the Swans have lost their form dramatically as they are struggling in the bottom half of the table. Nonetheless, they still are holding on and fighting hard, as seen in their impressive 3-2 win against Liverpool. Moreover, they also defeated Southampton and Leicester City most recently. Gylfi Sigurdsson has been their key performer so far, and there will be high hopes from him.
At the Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have a home record second to none. They have won their last nine matches there, in the League, along with winning at half time and full time in seven of them. In addition to this, they have a squad which is much more better than Swansea's. They need to be on the lookout for surprise counterattacks, but this is their match to lose.
Champions, Chelsea will be playing their opening fixture against Swanse City at home. The game is scheduled to take place at 17:30 hours BST on Saturday 8 2015 at Stamford Bridge.
This game should be an easy game for the Chelsea. Their manager Jose Mourinho hasn't made significant changes to the squad which means that most players already known their roles and that most players will be secure meaning their morale will be good. Diego Costa will now be linking up with his former team mate Radamel Falcao at the top. The addition of Falcao and Asmir Begovic seem to be changes that strengthen the bench and the teams that play cup games.
Swansea City have made a few attacking changes to far which could see them convert a few more goals this season. This game will not be easy for Gary Monk and his team. Bafetimbi Gomis will have to use his physical presence in this game. While Ki-Sung-Yueng will need to continue his fine form in midfield.
It isn't too difficult to predict the outcome of this game given that the home side are current champions and will want to do everything in their power to start of the season with a win. This should be an easy 2-0 win for the Blues.
Game week 4 features a top table clash between Chelsea FC and Swansea City FC at Stamford Bridge. The game is scheduled on Saturday 13, September 2014 at 15:00 hours BST.
Both the teams have played very attacking football so far and hence we could be having an exciting encounter on our hands. Chelsea has scored 11 goals in just three games, whereas Swansea City has conceded just the one goal thus far.
Swansea City will have to worry about the Chelsea’s attacking prowess, with Diego Costa in excellent form having netted four times in the three games played so far. He has been the striker that they have missed since Didier Drogba left the club in 2012.
Chelsea’s defence seemed quite vulnerable against Everton as they conceded three goals. Swansea City is capable of giving a headache to the Chelsea defenders, with the agility and speed that Nathan Dyer possesses. Dyer enters this game on a 100% scoring record having scored three goals in three games.
Chelsea will go into the games as favourites as they possess the ability to outscore most of their opponents with last game week being a great example. A 3-1 victory in favour of Chelsea is what you could expect, but it won’t be easy for them.

The Blues played out a 0-0 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates on Monday evening. Mourinho’s tactics were spot on- he came to the Emirates with the intention of earning a point and keeping his side in the title race, and that is exactly what they did. The Blues were however lucky not to lose John Obi Mikel in the first half after the medio’s shocking challenge on Mikel Arteta.
Chelsea are fourth in the league standings, but only two points behind league leaders Liverpool. Fifth placed Everton have the same number of points, but are below the Blues on goal difference.
Chelsea beat Swansea 2-0 the last time the two sides met at Stamford Bridge. However the Swans will look to take inspiration from the League Cup semifinal last season, when a shock win at the Bridge was the cornerstone of their unbelievable triumph.
