The Hammers have hit a green patch of form at the right moment of time and had collected eight points from the four games before their clash against Manchester United last weekend. A brace from the penalty spot by Mark Noble seemed to have handed West Ham with another big victory over United but a Wayne Rooney hat trick turned the game on its head in the second half while Javier Hernandez grabbed a fourth to make sure that there will be no late slipups.

Manager Avram Grant expressed his disappointment that his side was unable to hold out in the second half though he said that the defeat will not have any effect on his players’ morale and backed them to maintain their excellent recent form.

Grant though will not be on the touchline for the game against Bolton after he was handed a two match ban for his comments on referee Mike Jones soon after his side lost out against Stoke City in the FA Cup.
