The Cottagers were without a manager following the departure of Roy Hodgson and after negotiations with Martin Jol broke down, the club appointed Mark Hughes as the new coach of the club.

The former Manchester City coach led his side to a thumping 5-1 win over Werder Bremen in a friendly game and will be hoping for more of the same when they take on Bolton this weekend. Fulham are yet to spend any money in the transfer window this summer, though Hughes will be keen to bring in a couple of new players before the end of this month.

Meanwhile Bolton will be looking to improve on their recent record against Fulham and secure vital three points in their opening game of the season. Having struggled against relegation for most of the last season, Bolton will be hoping for a far better season this time around and finish as close to the top half as possible.
