Blackpool manager Ian Holloway will be hopeful that his side’s improved performance last weekend will prove to be the turning point in his side’s quest to avoid relegation starting with a victory over Stoke City this Saturday. The Tangerines had collected just one point from six games prior to their clash against Newcastle United last weekend but put in an improved performance, coming back from a goal down to restore parity just past the half hour mark through DJ Campbell to collect a vital point and remain out of the relegation zone.

With just four more games remaining in the season, which includes trips to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, Holloway will be aware that his side’s hopes of avoiding the drop will largely depend on whether they can win both of their remaining home games against Stoke and Bolton Wanderers.

Meanwhile Stoke City will be looking to collect three vital points that could finally end fears of a relegation battle in the final stage of the season. The Potters are currently just five points above the drop zone but do have a game in hand.
