The Red Devils were scheduled to play away to Blackpool on December 4 but the game was postponed due to heavy snow. United have since then missed another game, against Chelsea, but will now be looking forward to pulling level on the number of games played by their nearest rivals.

A victory on Tuesday could see United move three points clear at the top of the table and while Alex Ferguson is expected to make some changes to his starting lineup following the game against Birmingham on Saturday, the United manager is unlikely to take the game lightly since a victory could see them put some daylight between themselves and their title rivals.

Meanwhile Blackpool will be looking to put a below-par Manchester United side under pressure right from the start with their attacking game. The Tangerines have enjoyed unexpected success so far this season but have struggled in their recent games, losing three of the last four matches.
