The Cottagers were expected to lose out against United last weekend and twice went behind to a goal by Paul Scholes and an own goal by Brede Hangeland. However Simon Davies pulled Fulham level the first time around and Hangeland made amends for his mistake by securing the equalizer in the final minute of normal time after David Stockdale managed to deny Nani doubling the lead from the penalty spot.

Manager Mark Hughes will be pleased with his side’s performances in the first two games of the season but will be aware that they will have to start winning if they are to achieve their minimum expectation of finishing in the top half of the league table.

Meanwhile Blackpool coach Ian Holloway will be hoping that his side recovers from their heavy defeat against Arsenal last weekend and put up a vastly improved performance in front of their home fans. The Tangerines were brought back to earth after a fairytale opening to the season with Theo Walcott scoring a hat trick for the Gunners.

Mark Schwarzer remains a doubt for Fulham which means that Stockdale will continue between the sticks for Fulham while Philippe Senderos, Andrew Johnson and Diomansy Kamara are all out due to injuries.
