The Tangerines are proving to be the surprise package in the league this season and have already collected seven points from their opening five games. Ian Holloway’s side has lost just two games so far this season with both the defeats coming against sides that are challenging for the league title.

Blackpool’s strategy of attacking a rampant Chelsea side in their last match backfired for the Tangerines as the defending champions slammed home four goals in the first half with Florent Malouda grabbing a brace while Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba were also on target. Though Blackpool put up a far better performance in the second half, it was too little too late as Chelsea secured a comfortable victory in the end.

Blackburn on the other hand continued their good start to the season with a hard fought draw against Fulham last week. The Rovers had taken the lead through Chris Samba midway through the first half only for Fulham to equalize through Clint Dempsey 12 minutes after restart.
