Blackburn Rovers players will be hoping to recover from the shock sacking of manager Sam Allardyce ahead of their match against West Ham on Saturday. Watch all the live Premier League action here on Live Sport Network.

The Blackburn manager was intimated of the new owners’ decision on Monday in spite of Allardyce leading the side to a top half finish last season and overseeing a good start this time around. The new owners confirmed the sacking of Allardyce by claiming that it was all a part of their “wider plans and ambitions” for the club, though the move was met with disbelief by both the players and the fans.

Media reports suggest that the main reason for Allardyce’s dismissal was because of his unwillingness to accept players suggested by the board rather than spend the small transfer budget set aside for the January transfer window on his targets. Martin Jol, Diego Maradona and Chris Hughton have all emerged as possible candidates for the vacant post.

West Ham manager Avram Grant will be hoping to take advantage of the turmoil at the club by collecting three vital points on Saturday. The Israeli coach has been tipped to follow Hughton and Allardyce by becoming the third manager to be sacked this season though Grant expressed his confidence that he will quickly be able to turn his side’s form around.
