Blackburn Rovers will be looking to ease some pressure off manager Steve Kean by securing a vital victory over Blackpool when the two teams meet in their next Premier League clash on Saturday. Following a promising start to his reign as the Blackburn coach, Kean has seen his side collect just one point from their last five games to slip perilously close to the relegation zone. Blackburn are currently 14th in the league table, just one point above the drop zone and take on Arsenal in their next game.

Blackpool too are struggling for form though they have collected four points from their last five games. The Tangerines are level on points with Blackburn and coach Ian Holloway will be aware that a defeat against the Rovers this weekend will increase the pressure on his side who still have to play Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United this season.

While Blackpool clearly hold the advantage over Blackburn in the league meetings, their first match in more than three decades ended in a narrow defeat for Holloway’s side with Brett Emerton grabbing an injury time winner for the Rovers.
