After a disappointing first game against Liverpool, the Gunners hit form last weekend with a thumping 6-0 win over newly promoted side Blackpool. Theo Walcott scored a brilliant hat trick while Andrei Arshavin, Abou Diaby and new signing Marouane Chamakh were also on target.

Manager Arsene Wenger was delighted with Walcott’s display and expressed his confidence that the 21-year old will prove to be one of the key players for his side this season. Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce will be hopeful that his decent record against Arsenal continues this weekend as he looks to help his side bounce back from their disappointing defeat away to Birmingham City last weekend. Blackburn came back from a goal down to secure a narrow 2-1 win over Arsenal in this fixture last season and Allardyce will be optimistic that his side can repeat the performance this time around.
