The Gunners had moved to within two points of league leaders Chelsea following three straight victories but were undone by an injury time goal at Sunderland last weekend. Arsenal looked to be heading towards a victory thanks to a Cesc Fabregas goal early in the first half in spite of a penalty miss by Tomas Rosicky only for Darren Bent to score deep in injury time.

Manager Arsene Wenger was furious that the referee had played an extra minute of injury time than indicated and appeared to have manhandled the fourth official leading to an improper conduct charge by the FA which could see the manager sit on the sidelines for the game against the Baggies.

West Brom on the other hand will be hoping to build on their excellent performance against Birmingham City last week that saw them secure a comfortable 3-1 victory. The Baggies are off to a good start this season and manager Roberto Di Matteo will be optimistic that his side can stay well clear of the relegation zone for the rest of the season.

Joe Mattock and Ishmael Miller should return to action for West Brom while Arsenal will be hopeful that Fabregas will be available for selection with the midfielder suffering from a hamstring injury.
