The Magpies will be hoping to avenge their heavy defeat to Arsenal in the Carling Cup as the Gunners emerged comfortable 4-0 winners in the fourth round of the competition last month. Robin Van Persie should return to action after recovering from his ankle injury though Thomas Vermaelen is still a week away from recovery.
