US Coach Bob Bradley has indicated that these two friendly games will allow him to test untried players and build for the future. The US had a poor world cup in South Africa in June-July crashing out in the second round against Ghana.

Bradley has signed a new four year deal after the world cup, which means he will be in place for the 2014 world cup in Brazil. He has called up German-born Jermaine Jones and FC Dallas youngster Brek Shea for these two friendly games, but otherwise has retained faith in regular players. The onus is on Jozy Altidore and Robbie Findley to produce in front of goal as the US have had a bit of a goal drought lately.

Meanwhile Colombia begin another campaign to qualify for the world cup with this friendly game. The South American nation has not qualified for the elite event since 1998 and with the next world cup being held in the continent, it is imperative that they begin preparations in the right earnest.
