Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk has made wholesale changes to his squad that led them to a World Cup final spot when they take on Ukraine in a friendly game before the start of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Almost the entire World Cup squad has been rested with Bert van Marwijk calling up a number of youngsters. Reserve goalkeeper Michel Vorm is the only player who travelled to South Africa to find a place in the 18-man squad that will be travelling to Donetsk on August 11.

A number of young players are expected to make their debuts for the national team with Jeffrey Bruma, Erik Pieters, Ronnie Stam, Siem de Jong, Roy Beerens, Jeremain Lens and Ricky van Wolfswinkel all receiving the call up to the squad for the first time in their career.

Van Marwijk admitted that he is not losing too much sleep over the match against Ukraine, criticizing the timing of the friendly by stating that most of the players will not be fully fit to take part in the game.
