Marcel Schmelzer, Mario Goetze, Lewis Holtby and Andre Schuerrle have all been named in the squad for the first time in their career and are likely to play some part in the game on Wednesday. Coach Joachim Low admitted that the friendly game has provided him with a great chance of testing some of the younger players.

World Cup stars Philipp Lahm, Thomas Mueller and Mesut Oezil have all been dropped in order to provide them some rest with Kevin Grosskreutz, Andreas Beck, Patrick Helmes and Mats Hummels being called up as replacements.

Meanwhile Sweden coach Erik Hamren has named Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the national squad to play Germany on Wednesday. Tobias Hysen, Anders Svensson and Alexander Gerndt have also been called up as Hamren seeks a positive response from his side following their heavy defeat to Netherlands last time around.
