Italy coach Cesare Prandelli is likely to drop Antonio Cassano in favor of Mario Balotelli for his side’s next friendly game against Romania on Wednesday. Watch every second of live International Friendly action by signing up with us here on Live Sport Network

Cassano has been a regular under Prandelli but the 28-year old’s row against his club Sampdoria means that he cannot be picked for the game against Romania with the FGCI rules prohibiting players from appearing for the national team if they are at odds with their clubs.

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is the most likely replacement for Cassano with the former Inter Milan striker scoring two goals for his club against West Brom last weekend. However the 20-year old has been suspended for three games which means that Prandelli will have no firm idea about Balotelli’s current form.

Prandelli will be keen to make sure that his side does not take it easy against Romania with his side still in danger of being caught up by Slovenia in the race for the automatic qualifying spot in their group.
